The Tsum valley (Tibetan Buddhist land) literally stands as “impressive” with domain of 1,663 sq km as scared Himalayan pilgrimage destination located in northern territory of Gorkha, Nepal. Literally “Tsum” means vivid. Against the majestic backdrop of the Ganesh Himal and Sringi Himal, and Boudha ranges,. Along holding maximum altitude of 3,700 m from sea level, the entire settlement belongs to Tibetan folks with different unique structure of art, culture, language and religion.
The Tsum valley has long history of Buddhism. The Buddhist saint Milarewa is believed to be meditated in the caves of these mountains. Traditionally, the valley was a culturally distinct geographical called “Tsum Tso Chuksum”, which means thirteen provinces ruled as a single territory. The ancient remains of the Tsum Kingdom are still visible today. Due to it’s remoteness and inaccessibility, this scared valley and its people have been bypassed by mainstream development for centuries. As a result, the unique culture of this valley has remained intact.
Detail Itinerary
Day 1:( Trek start) Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola (720m)- 8 hours drive
Day 02: Trek from Soti khola to Maccha Khola (870m): 6-7 hours trek
Day 03: Trek from Maccha Khola to Jagat (2340m): 6-7 hours
Day 04: Trek from Jagat to Chisopani (1660m): 4-5 hours.
Day 05: Trek from Chisopani to Chumling (2,386m): 6 - 7 hours
Day 06: trek from Chumling to Chokhangparo (3,010m): 4-5 hours
Day 07: trek from Chokhangparo to Nile (3,361m): 5-6 hours
Day 80: Mu Gompa day exploration (3,700m): 7/8 hours
Day 09: Trek from Nile to Burgi Village (3,245m): 5 hours
Day 10: Trek from Burgi village -Chumling (2,386): 5-6 hours
Day 11: Trek from Chumling to Philim (1,570m): 6-7 hours
Day 12: Trek from Philim to Khorlabesi( 970m): 6-7 hours
Day 13: Trek from Khorlabesi to Soti Khola (700m): 6-7 hours
